2012 NATIONAL SHOW RESULTS
The 2012 ADGA National Show this year was held close to home, very close
in fact to Carrie's who lives in Loveland, and less than 200 miles from the farm in Lingle, Wyoming. We ended up taking
most of the milking does, and a lot of their nursing babies, just to make the work load at home as easy as possible.
Unfortunately one of our finest SGCH does, Bonny Black, simply forgot to get on the trailer, and our best yearling milker
(a SGCH Jewels daughter) did not pass the tough tattoo check altho she had just been checked at Appraisal 2 weeks earlier
and 3 times last year when she won GCH or RGCH Jr. Doe. At any rate, she had to return home, as well as Bonny Black's
fine doe as I wanted to be sure Bonny got milked while we were gone.
The showing was primarily done by Carrie, who usually does not get that opportunity,
along with my "Pueblo Team" made up of Jose Gonzeles and Reuben Stauffer (of J & R Lamanchas) and Jordan Roggen - WINNER
of FIRST PLACE in SENIOR SHOWMANSHIP!! CONGRATULATIONS and a big THANK YOU to Jordan, Jose, &
Reuben as well as to young Edie Scofield from Pueblo, and Rayna Fritcher from Alaska, for helping in the Jr.Kid class.
This was one of the best and biggest National Shows ever. The facilities were terrific,
the show was well run once the glitches in the PA were worked out somewhere thru the Nubian Show. Friends were here
from near and far, and it seemed to me everyone did well. I was pleased with the Nubian judging, for I felt they both
paid attention to Dairyness and strengths in General Appearance as well as just the Mammaries - and OH what a lot of beautiful
Mammaries! Over 400 Nubian Does were shown.
Following is a brief rundown of our placings. We felt we did very well overall,
but we always keep in mind that it is really "just another show", and our goats are no better nor any worse when they come
home from the show than they were when they went there.
