Juliette had a great year as an
8 yr old, traveling with us to all but the final show
of the season last year.
She couldnā€™t beat the tall milky does that are her grand-daughters - or her 3
yr.
old daughter who finished over her, GCH Lady Johanna - but she was still
near the top of her classes and had a RGCH or
two at the fairs.
She is grand-daughter Lana's favorite doe, and took her out for her first Pee
Wee Showmanship
class under the same judge her mama Carrie had started showing
under at about the same age - John Gorman. They are pictured
here as a pair.
What we didn't get was a good photo of the bag of peanuts Lana fed her while
waiting in the pen.
Aside
from all her show wins and production awards, Juliette's true worth is
in the consistently great offspring she has brought
into our herd and others.
All of her daughters with more than one freshening are finished champions, and
we have many
grand-daughters, and on down who are winning and producing
remarkably. Her son Merlin is stamping his daughters with that
exceptionally
long, wide and smooth fore-udder that Juliette was always know for - the lateral
attachments are just
phenomenal. We still have [4] of her daughters in our herd
- SGCH Jewellia(5 yrs & in Top Ten), Julianna (2 yrs),
Jubilate - (a yearling)
and Magic Moment, born this Mothers day. Most
of her other daughters (2 GCH )
and 2 younger ones working on it, are in the Victory Meadows herd in Texas.
After presenting
us with two more lovely daughters from her grandson Black Magic, Juliette stretched out her neck and rested her head and slipped
calmly from our lives this past Mother's Day.
She will so missed, but what a legacy she has left behind in our herd!
