2006 -  The year 2006 has been another exciting one for us in the show ring.  We attended 3 spring shows in Colorado, and then left for the National Show in Indiana.  As this is an off year for us, having lost or retired many of our older GCH does, and having sold the other 3 yr. old does who were
winning everywhere last year, and having freshened the rest of our mature does back in January, we were left with several first fresheners, some stale does, and of course our beautiful kids.  Thus we did not expect to do much at the
Nationals, and decided just to take does that looked good in the pens.
In order to help pay our way, we took along some extra
doelings to sell who ended up placing very well, and we also entered three
money fairs in Illinois to attend the day before and the 2 days after, figuring
the does would not be making enough milk to be competitive in Indiana anyways.
The fairs not only paid our way, we picked up 5 GCH legs, finished one doe, and
won a BIS with another.  And our young stock placed  exceptionally well at the
ADGA National Show.   We got home just a couple of days before our County Fair
competitions, and had ADGA Linear Appraisal less than 10 hours after returning
home again.  By this time we were all pretty tired, both the goats and myself,
so decided to forego the usual State Fair competitions this year.   We have a
local show in Sept that we will take a few goats to, and then just can't stand
to miss our favorite Tri-State Fair in Amarillo the end of September.  So stay
tuned for the rest of the results within the month.  Here are some of the
Highlights of this year so far;
